Kalyna Farming
Kalyna Farming is a large-scale conventional farming operation located in Western Ukraine. Operating approximately 7,000 hectares, the farm produces high quality commodity crops for the global markets.
The farm is situated on Ukraine’s Chernozem, or black soil, known for its exceptional fertility and capable of generating superior agricultural yields. Through its scale and high quality soils the operation has a competitive advantage in the production of crops such as wheat, barley, sunflower, and maize.
Kalyna Farming focuses on long-term soil preservation and improvement. Preserving soil health and agro-ecosystems are vital to the continued successful operation of the project. Kalyna Farming’s management philosophy is to utilise new, high quality agricultural technology in an effective and efficient manner to maximise yields whilst minimising inputs.
Regenerative techniques such as minimal tilling and cover cropping are incorporated into the management of the operation. Such practices are vital to the continued long-term sustainability of the project. The farm also operates 50 beehives across the farm, crucial for the pollination of crops such as sunflowers and it provides an alternative revenue stream through honey production.
Kalyna Farming is managed by an experienced team of dedicated personnel who work on a fully continuous operation.
By cultivating, sustaining and futher improving the rich soils of the farm we envisage to create long-term value.
